About Us

Candescent sees each child as an individual capable of growing and learning to their full ability.

Who we are
Candescent is a non-profit organization founded to address the unique needs of families with children that have sustained a brain related injury at birth that has resulted in cognitive and/or muscular disability.

What we do
Our objective is to help the individual family cope with the immense burden of raising the injured child by providing an additional support mechanism that assists the primary caregivers in maintaining as normal a quality of life as possible for all members of the family.
Our core focus is to provide individualized supplemental support services that are not currently available through existing County, State, and Federal programs or private health insurance and to facilitate and aide the primary caregivers in the procurement of existing services that are available.
Candescent’s goal is to help the family focus on achieving harmony in the home and promoting a stable and loving environment that allows disabled children and their siblings the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential.
